Shack Up! Thursdays @ The Queenshead (and then briefly 751 and the Beaver) weekly w/ Mikey Apples from Aug 2004 - Aug 2006
Mikey Apples and I started the Shack Up party in 04, and it ended in 06. Music ran the gamut from psyche, electro, classic rock, kraut, pop, no wave, punk funk, house, art rock, indie dance, italo and leftfield disco, indie rock, etc etc. We played whatever we wanted, were total amateurs and had all our amateur friends out to play songs they liked to dance to, too. It was alot of fun. Along the way we had many special surprise guests, like Chromatics, Glass Candy, James Murphy, Juan Maclean, Shit Robot, KIM and MSTRKRFT. Most of the time it was a free party - the most we ever charged was maybe $3. And we made one or two flyers, tops, over a 2 year span.
